Check out this harvest of great characters on display in the library! Fourth-grade students transformed pumpkins into characters from the books they are currently reading. Students also wrote cinquain-style poems about their characters. Through this activity, students practiced identifying and describing character traits.

The Florence-Carlton School Board has elected to allow 8th grade participation in Golf, Cross Country, Track, Wrestling, and Cheer. There are no stipulations on these sports other than "8th graders are allowed to participate" in the given sport. We are trying to determine the communities thoughts and feelings about allowing 8th graders to participate in team sports, ie, basketball, volleyball, baseball, and softball.
