Scott Marsh, FCS High School Principal
My name is Scott Marsh, the Florence-Carlton High School principal. I want to welcome you to our school district. Our mission statement at FCS is:
Florence-Carlton parents, school and community will provide a safe, respectful environment that strives to prepare all students to become responsible, life-long learners by empowering them with the integrity, knowledge and skills to contribute to a changing world.
This is my ninth year at FCS and my fifth year serving as principal at Florence-Carlton High School. I grew up in Eastern Montana, so I guess you could call me a "flatlander". After high school, I attended Montana Tech on a golf and math scholarships and graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mathematics. After graduation, I started teaching in Corvallis on a provisional certificate. While at Corvallis, I taught Science and Math while coaching football, track, and basketball. During that time, I attended Montana-Western to earn my full teaching certificate in Math and Business. From 2008-2016, I taught Math, Business, and PE in Darby and coached football, basketball, track, and golf while serving as the Activities Director. During my tenure in Darby, I attended yet another Frontier Conference school, Rocky Mountain College. At Rocky, I earned my Masters degree in Educational Leadership. Then in 2016, I started teaching Math here at FCS while serving as the Activities Director. In 2018, I became the Vice Principal of Facilities and Activities, and then in 2020, I became the High School Principal.
My wife's name is Katie and we have one daughter named Avery. In my spare time, I enjoy the outdoors, sports, traveling and spending time with my family and friends.
It is a privilege to serve as the high school principal in Florence alongside such highly qualified professionals. I truly care about the educational needs of our students. As a teacher, I was proud of the relationships I formed with my students, their parents, and my fellow colleagues. I hope to continue the same kinds of relationships as principal in Florence. Go Falcons!
